Ship loading philosophy. The shiploader is the last piece of equipment in the material handling system. The shiploader's position, at the end of the product stream, must be the most failure free and easy to operate.

Shiploader description. The AMECO shiploader is a slewing, luffing, traveling shiploader designed for handling bulk materials and/or bags. It is designed as a traveling bridge with two traveling carriages one on landside and one on seaside. The landside carriage has two double wheel bogies and the seaside carriage is composed of four double flanged, double wheel bogies.
The landside carriage is connected to a foot, which in turn is connected to the traveling bridge via an articulation. The seaside carriage is connected to a gantry connected to the bridge in a solid manner.
At a distance from the vertical centerline of the seaside carriage, a slewing ring supports the slewing gantry supporting the shiploader luffing boom and counterweight boom. Hoist machinery is installed in a housing located on the counterweight boom. This housing also serves as an electrical room and houses the motor control center for the shiploader.
AMECO shiploaders are available either for bulk handling, or bag handling, or bag and bulk depending on the tool connected on the shiploader. In order to easily interchange (without the use of a crane) the tools on the shiploader, a resting tower can be placed at one end of the jetty. The resting tower is designed to receive either the bulk loading spout, or the bag loading spout.

Safety Mind. An operator cabin is located on the same level as the counterweight boom and is accessible by a platform looking towards the shiploader luffing boom. The top of the traveling bridge receives the conveyor system. Access is given to all maintenance points by way of platforms, walkways, stairs and ladders.
The correct tool for the proper job. Depending on the product being loaded, the kind of ships and the rate of loading, the proper tools must be used. These tools are connected to the end of the shiploader boom. AMECO offers a wide selection of tools with the possibility to be connected on all shiploaders.
